In this final workshop you will create a professional map from your QGIS project for printing or presentation. The instructions have details for all the map elements you may need such as adding feature attribute tables, copyright statements and scales. They also detail how to save a template for your map, helping you to create a professional map style that is easy to replicate.
In this session you will undertake the following tasks:
- map layout and scaling
- adding essential annotation items such as scale, north arrow, title and copyright text, legend and location
- exporting to pdf and jpeg
- saving templates to speed up future map creation
Get started by downloading the step-by-step instructions below. When you have completed the workshop upload a pdf or jpeg of your final map to complete the practical sections of this course. This map will be assessed by the course leader Rebecca before the course is signed off and your completion certificate issued.
